Total Body Scan® Premium

This is the most comprehensive Total Body Scan® program. In addition to the detailed standard scans (MRI, CT and ultrasound for the skull/brain, cervical spine, vessels supplying the brain, thyroid gland, heart, lungs, gall bladder, kidneys, bladder, spleen, liver, pancreas and aorta) and the comprehensive premium laboratory examination (from blood, stool and urine), special attention is paid to the heart.

The Total Body Scan ® Premium program is supplemented with ECG, ergometry (stress ECG) and echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound).

The Total Body Scan® programs were basically developed to detect the first signs of tumours, heart attacks and strokes at an early stage (without existing symptoms), but also to detect other changes, such as calcifications of the blood vessels or cysts. It is complemented by a comprehensive premium laboratory examination.

This program is made for people who

• have not had any laboratory parameters examined for a long time,
• cope with a high level of stress on a daily basis,
• have cardiovascular diseases,
• (somewhat) overweight,
• High blood pressure, diabetes, etc.
• have a family history of cardiovascular disease
• but above all, they want comprehensive preventive care.

The aim of these screening programs is to use imaging procedures to detect diseases at an early stage in order to gain valuable time for the choice of treatment. Because earlier is always better than later

The three additional cardiac examinations (ECG, ergometry (stress ECG) and echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound)) alone require an additional 1 hour. You should therefore expect to spend approx. 3-3.5 hours on day I and another 30 minutes on day II to discuss the detailed findings.

The findings are prepared by independent specialists, which is why the consultation takes place 2-3 days later. After the consultation, you will receive your images from the radiological examinations in digital form, as well as a final written report.

*At some locations, it is possible to conduct the diagnostic interview in the afternoon of the day of the examination.

After the telephone consultation, we will coordinate your examination procedure to save you as much waiting time as possible.

During the initial consultation with the doctor, he will review your medical history with you and may make adjustments to the screening program with you, e.g. he will cancel the ECG, as you still have a current diagnosis. You will then undergo all radiological procedures (MRI, CT, possibly ultrasound). Or you can start with the cardiac examinations straight away and the imaging procedures will follow.

During the final consultation, your doctor will explain all the findings to you and answer your questions. He or she may also give you valuable recommendations on how you can optimize your health. If further examinations are necessary, he will arrange everything (referral, etc.). Of course, we can plan further examinations for you in a resource-optimized manner if you wish.

The doctor in charge will discuss this with you at your leisure. Sometimes you will only need a check-up in a few weeks’ time, while at other times he or she will consider further examinations to be necessary. You will receive a referral for these examinations and do not need to obtain this from your GP.

Serious illnesses are rather rare. They account for less than 2% of all Total Body Scan® patients. However, if a serious diagnosis is made, you are not alone. Your doctor will show you the next steps and provide you with all the necessary documents and information.

The Total Body Scan® programs differ in their scope. Depending on your state of health, possible health risks or existing findings, the packages can be individually adapted or supplemented with additional examinations such as heart and laboratory tests or other partial examinations can be omitted.

MRI can detect changes such as tumors, stroke/brain infarction, bleeding and inflammation at an early stage. The cervical spine is examined for problems such as herniated discs, trauma, narrowing, wear and tear, cervical spine syndrome. The organs of the upper and lower abdomen, such as the gall bladder, kidneys, bladder, spleen, liver, pancreas
are also thoroughly examined.

A CT scan of the chest can be used to diagnose chronic lung disease (COPD), pneumonia, a lung tumor or a blocked blood vessel in the direction of the lungs (pulmonary embolism). If indicated, a heart CT scan (calcium scoring) is performed to examine any calcification of the coronary arteries. The examination is carried out using the low-dose method and is low in radiation.

The carotid and thyroid glands are scanned using ultrasound. The ultrasound waves reflected by the tissue make it possible to visualize the tissue structure and detect any changes.

During the cardiological examination, your heart function is examined for any abnormalities. This is done with the help of echocardiography (heart ultrasound), an electrocardiogram (ECG) and ergometry (stress ECG).

Your blood values, urine and stool are extensively examined in the laboratory. Blood and urine will be handed in on the day of the test. Please come to the blood test on an empty stomach. The stool sample letter will be sent to your home in advance.

After the consultation, you will receive your images from the radiological examinations in digital form, as well as a final written report. We will send you these findings or you can download them via a link.
