Acest material se poate calcifica \u0219i poate favoriza apari\u021bia aterosclerozei (o boal\u0103 a peretelui vascular), cunoscut\u0103 \u0219i sub numele de boal\u0103 arterial\u0103 coronarian\u0103 (CAD).<\/p>\n<p>Investigarea scorului de calciu prin intermediul unei scan\u0103ri CT cardiace determin\u0103 dac\u0103 sunt prezente pl\u0103ci calcificate \u0219i \u00een ce m\u0103sur\u0103, chiar dac\u0103 nu a fost observat \u00eenc\u0103 niciun simptom. Deoarece calciul este un indicator pentru o plac\u0103, cantitatea de calciu este \u00eenregistrat\u0103 pe o tomografie computerizat\u0103 cardiac\u0103 \u0219i evaluat\u0103\/m\u0103surat\u0103 cu ajutorul unui instrument de diagnosticare (program de detectare a pl\u0103cilor). Cu c\u00e2t valoarea calciului este mai ridicat\u0103, cu at\u00e2t depunerile \u00een vasele de s\u00e2nge sunt mai mari, iar riscul de a suferi un infarct miocardic este ridicat. Pe baza valorii calciului (scorul de calciu), se poate stabili un prognostic pentru urm\u0103torii cinci p\u00e2n\u0103 la zece ani. Examinarea dureaz\u0103 \u00eentre cinci \u0219i zece minute.<\/p>\n<p>Prin intermediul acestei investiga\u021bii, sunt oferite informa\u021bii suplimentare fa\u021b\u0103 de examenul cardiologic.
